Susan Jacobson
Fascinated by human nature and the emotional extremes of the individual, Susan’s films reflect her passion. Her feature film directorial debut, THE HOLDING (released by Lionsgate), has garnered her two Best Director Awards, one at the acclaimed Fantasporto Film Festival in Portugal. Other awards include cinematography and acting, as well as being nominated for the After Dark Competition at the Chicago Film Festival.
Susan’s short films have won critical acclaim worldwide. Her most recent short, OH-BE-JOYFUL has won numerous awards around the globe and continues to entertain audiences. ONE HUNDREDTH OF A SECOND (co-produced by the UK Film Council) won Best Film at the Manhattan Short Film Festival amongst many other awards, it was screened in festivals worldwide is a YouTube sensation.
Susan is also Producer (Most recently Executive Producing PULP) and enjoys working with upcoming and established talent worldwide.
She is a Guiding Lights Alumni (mentored by Gillies MacKinnon – HIDEOUS KINKEY, REGENERATION) and her films have been championed by Women in Film and Television International and screened at their worldwide showcase.
Susan regularly directs for the BAFTA Rocliffe New Writing Forum at the BAFTA headquarters in London, nationally and internationally, in New York where the Forum showcases British talent at the New York Television Festival.
She has also worked with Stephanie Laing (VEEP, DIVORCES) on her online platform, PYPO, directing comedy sketches.
